Assessment

Assessments are the teacher's tool for determining the depth of student understanding. I was able to adjust my lessons and materials to reteach or fortify weaker skills by using informal and formal assessments. I used Kahoot, exit slips, stand-up/sit-down, and Paper, Rock, Scissors to informally check-up on student progress. My formal assessments were a combination of traditional and project-based: multiple choice, true/false, fill-in-the-blank, short answer, evidence-based paragraphs, essays, posters, presentations, booklets, and brochures. Making and grading tests was as boring as taking them, so I liked to incorporate creative projects to mix things up. Below I have included test samples, an example project, and informal check slides to highlight the various assessment methods used in my classroom.
